Services Provided for Test Takers with Disabilities

The Education and Training Evaluation Commission is committed to enabling persons with disabilities to take their tests with ease by adapting the testing environment to meet their needs. The Commission provides specialized facilities and individualized support to ensure a safe and comfortable testing experience, in line with the best international standards, thereby promoting equal opportunities in access to assessment processes.

The Blind

  1. Adapted tests that do not rely on the sense of sight for perception or response.
  2. A human reader to read the test components and record the answers.
  3. A quiet, separate location from other test takers.

Low Vision Individuals

  1. A large screen (27-inch).
  2. Ability to enlarge the font
  3. Ability to change colors
  4. A designated seat at the front of the examination room, allowing the test taker to see the proctor and the timing clock.
  5. An assistant to record the answers if the test taker is unable to write them due to low vision.

The Deaf

  1. Adapted tests that do not rely on the sense of hearing for perception or response.
  2. Instructions and alerts provided in written form instead of spoken instructions.

Hard of Hearing

  1. When necessary, the proctor’s instructions and alerts should be delivered in a slow, clear voice to enable hard-of-hearing individuals to comprehend the requirements.
  2. Adapted tests that do not rely on the sense of hearing for perception or response.
  3. A designated seat at the front of the examination room that allows the test taker to hear the proctor’s instructions and alerts.

Upper Limb Disability

  1. An assistant to enter the test taker’s information and navigate between the questions.
  2. A scribe to record the answers.

Lower Limb Disability

  1. Ensuring the absence of any barriers for wheelchair users, such as stairs or similar obstacles.
  2. A seat for the test taker near the examination room door to facilitate entry and exit.
  3. A private entrance and an appropriate testing room for the test taker.

Infectious Diseases

  1. A designated location for such cases, where the test taker is separated from other test takers and placed under care and supervision.
